ROBERT PARKER REVIEW: Like the wines themselves, larger-than-life Frenchman Jean Hoefliger is the winemaking consultant behind the small quantities of The Debate, where he has partnered with Rob McKay. After the incredibly successful 2013s, Hoefliger has followed up with equally fine 2014s, which are nearly as concentrated as the 2013s, slightly less structured, but for most consumers, more delicious and fruit forward, although several of these wines would certainly merit some bottle age to shed tannin. These are very impressive wines from consultant Jean Hoefliger and his partner, Rob McKay.As for the two other wines, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Sunshine Vineyard (15%) displays glorious blueberry, and blackberry fruit, some white flowers, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, silky tannins, and tremendous lushness and sex appeal. Drink it over the next 20-25 years.

Sunshine Valley Vineyard is in the Oak Knoll district of Napa Valley. A moderate climate, Marine air and Summer fog combine with well-drained soils to create an excellent terroir for Bordeaux-style varietals. Most of Sunshine Valley is planted in Cabernet Sauvignon, though Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and just a bit of Zinfandel round out the vineyard. Careful canopy management allows each grape cluster its optimal ratio of sunshine to shade. Come autumn, the fruit is hand-harvested for balanced flavor and ripeness.Product Specifications
